We all have times when we crave a little “bad” food. Sometimes we can shrug it off; other times it’s like trying to hold down a monster.

It may be better to give in a little and curb your craving. This can ward off an all-out binge. Here are some little food “sins” you can indulge in from time to time to help you feel satisfied and not deprived.

Ice Cream
Skinny Cow ice cream treats
Weight Watchers desserts
Frozen yogurt (fat free)

Chocolate
Diet hot cocoa mix
Hershey’s dark chocolate squares
Fudgesicle sugar-free fudge pops

Pizza
Weight Watchers frozen pizza
Lean Cuisine frozen pizza
Make your own (slice of light bread, low sugar ketchup, oregano, low fat cheese, broil in oven)

Crunchy
100 calorie pack microwave popcorn
Quacker baked rice cakes
Whole grain pretzel rods

Remember to always check nutrition labels for serving sizes, calories, and fat content. If at all possible, buy treats that are packaged in single servings. Eating a whole container of a “low fat” treat defeats the purpose.

Of course, the best snacks are whole foods, such as apple slices, raw almonds, sunflower seeds, nonfat yogurt, etc. But keep a few special treats around for when you feel the need to indulge.
