I had a conversation with someone at the gym about the health club business and personal training. He made an interesting comment: “I’m surprised more people don’t use trainers.”
“Well, it costs money,” I responded.
“Yeah, but so do doctors and medicine,” he said.
Point taken.
Many people don’t look at their health as an investment. They don’t think about what shape they’re in or how much at risk they are for disease.
Ask them to pay a monthly gym fee, no way! Yet they’ll be happy to spend their hard-earned money on eating out and going to the movies.
Down the road, eventually, they’ll be forced to pay attention to their health – and pay for health care.
The saying ‘preventative medicine is the best medicine’ is certainly true. It costs a lot less to take measures for good health now. Many diseases can be avoided or minimized with regular exercise and good nutrition.
Isn’t your health worth investing in? Could you cut out a few restaurant dinners to pay for gym membership? Could you skip gourmet coffee shops for extra cash to buy healthy whole foods?
You’ve only got one body to live in. Make your health a priority and invest in it.
