How Are You Doing With Your Weight Loss Resolutions?

So we’re halfway through the month of January – fifteen days into the New Year.  Where are you at with your weight loss resolutions? Are you going strong or have your good intentions fallen by the wayside?

If you’re going strong, good for you! You made a good plan and are sticking with it.

If you already slid off course, you’re probably feeling pretty disappointed with yourself. You may feel like you might as well give up. Like there’s no use even trying. (Just give me the pizza and the ice cream ‘cause I’ll always be fat.)

No, no, no! Don’t feel that way.

When attempting lifestyle change, it’s totally normal to screw up, mess up, and fall flat on your face. This doesn’t mean you can’t try again…and again…and again.

There is no rule telling you how many times you’re allowed to start over. You must start over until you get it. However long it takes. (Did you know most people fail 6 times before they succeed?)

Now is the time to refocus and start anew. Make sure:

  1. Your goals are realistic
  2. Your goals are spelled out, not general
  3. You have an action plan for each day
  4. You have support with family or friends
  5. You’ve created a weight-loss friendly environment around you

You can do it. Don’t quit trying. You’ll get it; just hang in there.
