If your kids are like mine, they love pizza. But restaurant pizza is full of sodium, fat, and cholesterol with refined white dough, full fat cheese, greasy meat, and oil in the pan. One slice of a popular pizza chain’s pepperoni pizza has 260 calories, 12 grams of fat, and 590 mg of sodium. (Not something I want my family eating!)
But you can enjoy pizza at home – and make it fun and healthy too!
For this recipe you will need:
A package of frozen 100% whole wheat bread dough
Light spaghetti sauce
Shredded part skim mozzarella cheese
Assorted chopped veggies
Grilled chicken, cubed
Follow the package directions for thawing the dough. Then divide the dough into small balls for individual pizzas. Roll each ball on a floured surface until it’s thin and round. Let the kids help with the rolling for lots of fun (and mess).
Set up an assembly line with the sauce, cheese and toppings. Have each member of the family make their own pizza. Place on baking sheets and bake at 400 degrees for approximately 15 minutes.

BTW, It’s good too.
