When you’re working on weight loss, there’s nothing worse than feeling gnawing hunger pangs all day. You may be able to hang in there for a little while, but at some point you’ll cave in and binge like there’s no tomorrow.
If you’re eating healthy, whole foods about every three hours, you shouldn’t feel hungry (except when it’s time to eat). However, some people do experience higher levels of hunger than others.
Here are some tips to help you feel full and keep you full longer:
- Drink hot tea or a glass of lemon water while preparing your meal
- Eat a large serving of raw or steamed vegetables with each meal
- Begin your meal with a bowl of low cal soup
- Have protein every time you eat (lots at mealtime and some at snack time)
- Slow down and really chew your food
- Choose fiber-rich foods
- Switch to whole grains only
- Use lots of spices for a flavor buffet
- Cut sugary and processed snack foods
- Drink coffee or diet mocha at the end of your meal
Following these tips will help you feel full and stay on track with your diet.
